Piter de Weerd graduated from the University of Amsterdam, where he specialized in intellectual property law. Piter worked as a trademark attorney, before joining the IP departments of NautaDutilh and subsequently De Brauw Blackstone Westbroek. He is the founder and general editor of the Dutch IP website Boek9.nl, which has turned out to become the foremost daily information source for Dutch IP professionals, students and interested laymen. Piter is also an editor of AMI, a Dutch print journal about copyright law. In 2006 Piter de Weerd joined Klos, Morel Vos & Schaap, where he works as professional support lawyer, covering all areas of  intellectual property law.
