Marloes Bakker was educated at the University of Amsterdam and the University of Essex. During her studies she focused on intellectual property law. She was president of the Amsterdam Law Students Association (JFAS) and worked at the Institute for Information Law (IViR), where she participated in the institute’s database right project and co-organised the International Copyright Law Summer Course. She is a member of several intellectual property organisations, i.a. the VvA (Dutch Copyright Association) and the Vereniging voor Farmacie en Recht (Dutch Organisation for Farmacy and Law). Marloes joined Klos Morel Vos & Schaap in 2007.
