Laura van Gijn graduated from the University of Leiden, where she took several courses in copyright and trademark law. She earned her degree with honors and worked during her studies as a paralegal at an international law firm in Rotterdam. Laura joined Klos Morel Vos & Schaap in 2007 and was admitted to the Amsterdam Bar in the same year.
